7 Tips for Selecting Text
============================================================
1. Stop the out of control mouse. Choose [Shift] instead of dragging the mouse. Hold [Shift] plus the arrow keys to select text in the desired direction. Learn other ways to avoid the "runaway mouse":

2. Select a word. Double-click on it. If a space immediately follows the word you select, the space gets selected but other punctuation is ignored.
3. Select multiple words. To select multiple, non-contiguous words, hold [Ctrl] and double-click to highlight additional words even ones that are not next to each other.
4. Select a sentence. Hold down [Ctrl] and click anywhere in the sentence.
5. Select a paragraph. Triple-click within the paragraph. The other trick is to move the mouse just past the left margin of the paragraph. When the pointer changes to a right-pointing arrow, double-click to select the whole paragraph.
6. Select a table. It's easy to select a table by first clicking anywhere in the table and then, with Num Lock turned off, press [Alt] + 5 on the numeric keypad.
7. Select an entire document. Just press [Ctrl] + A (Select All). This is a handy trick when you want to change the font or apply other formatting to all of the text.
