Microsoft Word: 3 "Secret" Selection Tricks 
Microsoft Word tips, selecting text, Word shortcutsOne of the most popular features last year was my article on tips for selecting text in Microsoft Office files. Even experienced Office users were surprised to discover "hidden" tricks they didn't know about. If you missed the selection tips, you can find them at

Here are 3 more selecting tips to try in Microsoft Word:
  • To highlight an entire sentence, press and hold [Ctrl] and click anywhere in the sentence.
  • To select an entire paragraph, triple-click anywhere in the paragraph.
  • To select a vertical block of text (for sections narrower than the width of the document), hold down [Alt] and drag your mouse across and down to highlight the text area.
