Whether you are a road warrior, a vacation traveler, or both, it's likely that there are some websites and tools that are indispensable to your travels.
Here are some of the travel tips and tech tools that help ease my journeys. Send your favorites to me at mailto:Dawn@SoftwarePro.com and I'll share them with other readers.

1. Find the Best Seat on a Plane
=====================================================
The Seat Guru site ( http://www.seatguru.com ) shows you the seat configuration offered by many airlines by aircraft type. It then singles out particularly good seats, like ones with extra leg room due to the aircraft's configuration; find out which seats to stay away from too. Business travelers can also determine which planes have laptop power at which seats.

2. More Travel Resources

3. Take a Break from Travel Noise

I truly appreciated the value of my Bose QuietComfort 2 Acoustic Noise Canceling headphones http://www.bose.com during my latest airplane trip. The plane was filled to capacity with business travelers and summer vacationers along with the common distractions: crying baby, coughing, and loud conversation. With these premium Bose headphones, I can dramatically reduce unwanted noise and hear music come alive.
The ergonomic design of these noise reduction headphones allows for a light and comfortable fit; you may even forget you have them on. Whether you take them on a trip or to the office, these headphones will fold flat to store easily in a bag or briefcase. A single detachable audio cable gives you easy access to portable players, home stereos and in-flight entertainment systems. Remove the cable to go "cordless" when you simply want some peace and quiet. (I have friends that even wear these headphones to bed to silence the noise of their snoring partners.)
At a price of $299, your investment will pay off with rest and refreshment during your travels. Bonus tip: pack extra batteries in case you forget to turn off the headphones.

4. Tech Tool: The Do-Everything Charger
=====================================================
When my over-priced and under-powered laptop AC adapter started going on the fritz, it was time to upgrade. While the huge manufacturers laptop charger stays attached to a port replicator in the office, I now travel with the new iGo EverywherePower 7500 from Mobility Electronics
( http://www.igo.com ), which juices not only my laptop but all of the gadgets I travel with. Have you ever arrived at your destination only to discover that you are missing a critical charger for your phone or (worse yet) your Game Boy?
At 13 ounces, the iGo 7500 brick is a bit heavy for easy "mobility" but it works great. One cord powers a notebook computer, while a second simultaneously charges a phone, camera, PDA, MP3 player, or Game Boy. The $139.99 unit comes with a car and air outlet cord, plus adapters for most major laptops; adapter tips for other devices cost under $10. (I also own an iGo car charger for my wireless phone which I can continue to use even when I update my phone.)
The 7500 is powerful and compatible with more makes and models of laptops than any other universal power adapter you can buy. If you add a new device, the only extra you should need may be another adapter tip. The outstanding EverywherePower adapter received Laptop Magazine's Ultimate Choice 2005 Award and it's easy to understand why.
